Hylomar Exhaust Repair Putty
Description
Hylomar Exhaust Repair Putty is a water based, heat curing repair compound. It has been
specifically designed for use in the repair and assembly of exhaust systems for automotive and
other general applications. The asbestos free formulation will withstand both pressure and
temperatures typically found in vehicle exhaust systems.

Directions for use
Ensure the surfaces to be joined are clean and free of loose rust, dirt and grease. Abrade the
surface with medium emery paper or wire brush. Moisten the area with water and apply the putty
with a knife. Force the putty into the repair to give added strength. Soften putty with water if
necessary. Replace lid firmly after use. Run the engine at low speed until warm, this will ensure
rapid hardening of the repair putty and will set to form a gas tight seal.
CAUTION: Avoid running engines in confined spaces.
For large holes or splits in silencers or pipes, the use of Hylomar Exhaust repair bandage is
recommended.
Typical Applications
For use as an exhaust repair compound. When heated the product cures to form a gas tight seal
which is both carbon monoxide proof and resistant to vibration.
Any equipment used in the application of Hylomar Exhaust Repair Putty may be cleaned using water
or a detergent solution
Handling & Safety.
The shelf life of Hylomar Exhaust Repair Putty is 12 months when kept in original
unopened containers and stored in dry, well ventilated conditions away from strong sun light and
frost.
The product is not considered as hazardous under current health & safety regulations if the
following precautions are observed.

advice.
