Description
Hylomar Hyloseal 204 is a pre-applied thread sealant, which is water-based, non-hazardous and easy
to use.
Hyloseal 204 has excellent performance qualities providing instant sealing upon installation. The
compound can be applied to all metallic surfaces and can inhibit corrosion of mating components due
to its sealing action.

Method of Application
1.
Apply an even coating of the Hyloseal 204 to the threaded component, taking care not to coat
the first 2 or 3 threads.
2.
Dry the coated component in an air-circulating oven. The ideal drying conditions are 30
minutes at 65°C however; longer drying times at cooler temperatures are acceptable. Ensure
the product is thoroughly dry before storage of treated fasteners.
3.
Allow to cool then store the components in a cool dry place until required.
Typical Applications
Hyloseal 204 eliminates the need for sealant application at the point of assembly, giving improved
production rates and eliminating operator inconsistencies. Disassembly is as easy as installation.
Hylomar Hyloseal 204 can be used in applications where a wet sealant or PTFE sealing tape has
previously been used. Hyloseal 204 has been tested at temperatures up to 180°C. Its sealing
properties are unaffected by these temperatures or by exposure to most automotive fluids such as
engine & transmission oils, hydraulic fluids and anti freeze mixtures. For full details of test results

Handling and Safety Properties
Not classed as hazardous. Observe normal industrial hygiene standards.
Components pre-coated with Hyloseal 204 can be stored for two years, without
detriment to their sealing properties.
