Compatibility with Metalworking Fluids

Co-mingling of slideway lubricants and metalworking fluids (MWFs) is inevitable and can lead to fluid contamination. Products formulated with Lubrizol 5411 provide excellent demulsibility characteristics – allowing for easy removal of metalworking fluid contamination and ensuring smooth machine tool operation.

Compatibility with Lubrizol Metalworking Fluids

Results of SKC Gleittechnik GmbH procedure conducted with 12 different commercially available MWFs. The procedure predicts potential problem with slideway lubricant function following MWF ingress. Slideway lubricants built from Lubrizol 5411 demonstrated stage 1-2 performance with all twelve aqueous cutting fluids dictated by test protocol after one day and seven day observations

Phosphorus Free Technology

Certain industry specifications (GM LS2) impose limitations on the amount of phosphorus acceptable in slideway lubricants. Manufacturers are also concerned with phosphorus “leaching” into aqueous metalworking fluids. In response, Lubrizol 5411
technology was specifically designed without phosphorus chemistry so it can be used with confidence. Additionally, specified residual element limits (metals) can also be met with Lubrizol 5411-based formulations.
